Kathleen Roth - Owner
Kathleen Roth has been involved in exercise and fitness for most of her life. When she was a small girl she became a very young martial arts prodigy. She excelled in martial arts very quickly and became a third degree black belt in Goshin Jutsu, a rare Okinawan art, as well as an owner and instructor of her own martial arts school at age 11. Kathy’s passion for martial arts transitioned into incorporating martial arts into personal training and exercise.
Upon hearing of Kathy’s success and the selling of her martial arts school, Kathy was quickly offered a position by Nautilus Fitness and Racquet club in Erie Pennsylvania in 1999 as a certified personal trainer, certified through the National Exercise Training Association. While being employed by Nautilus fitness, she was the first personal trainer to achieve and maintain a level in personal training sales that had exceeded any trainer in their 30 year history. While accomplishing this tremendous goal, she was amazingly doing this while also working at two other jobs, including personal exercise training at Willie Blanks Fitness as well the store branch director of a General Nutrition Center in Erie Pennsylvania.
Kathy had a continued hunger for knowledge and additional certification, which led to her completion of an additional elite personal training certification by the American Council on Exercise in 2005. Upon completing this advanced certification, she was offered and accepted a full-time training position by Body by Gwen in Daytona Beach Florida. During this time, Kathy became the lead personal trainer at Body by Gwen, until relocating to Virginia in 2008. In Virginia, Kathy created her own home personal training business, and has continued to provide personal exercise training to clients independently with one-on-one exercise training.
Some of the many certifications that Kathy has attained include: Certification in exercise and pregnancy, posture and post rehabilitation, prenatal and postpartum exercise design, lifestyle fitness coaching, American Council of Exercise integrated fitness training model for exercise program design, cholesterol and exercise, diabetes and exercise, a secondary pre-and postnatal exercise certification, a certification in your client's framework – seven steps to healthy muscles, bones, and joints, post-orthopedic rehabilitation for personal trainers, a Pilates instructor certification, and mommy and me exercise certification. Kathy is also a Fitness Nutrition Specialist (FNS) through the National Academy of Sports Medicine.
Kathy continues a love for incorporating her martial arts experience with her personal training clients. Not only has she been gifted in her martial arts career, but she also has the ability to help many people achieve their personal exercise goals with her experience and wonderful loving and infectious personality.
